Responsible Use of the Internet

Today we started talking about Birchwood School's new Responsible Use Agreement that is coming home next week. We focused on thinking about the internet and what we put on it. We also talked about what we read on it. Is it always true? We visited a website that taught us about the Tree Octopus that lives in America. This was a good lesson in how convincing the internet can be!

Thanks Gran!

Today Jonty's Gran gave everyone in Room 6 a new knitted hat to keep our heads warm this winter. We are soooo lucky! Gran must be a fast knitter!

The Boring Book

Today some Nayland College students came to perform their version of The Boring Book for us. They performed a play based on the book and it was VERY entertaining! We read this book last week while we were deciding who to vote for in the New Zealand Post book awards. Thanks for coming Nayland. It was great for teachers to see some familiar faces as well!

Fractions

Today we are focussing on sharing equally when dividing shapes into different fractions.

Vocabulary Activity

Today we started sorting out topic words and finding the definition. It was a good challenge. We are still working on this task so feel free to come and have a look and talk to your kids about what they have matched.
